Draft Governance Framework

The Framework Draft displayed here is not a solution, it's just the beginning of the conversation.

A small working group has developed some very early ideas to begin discussing a potential new future for governance of the Akal Takht and facilitating consensus-based decision-making. We are inviting the community at large to provide feedback and ideas that we can include into future versions of this document. In the coming weeks, we will be deploying a more robust solution to allow community members to discuss ideas and vote on topics that will drive the development of this framework. In the interim, we are asking for advice and comments on the documents you see below.

Wjkk wjkf! The draft seems fundamentally flawed. It defines sarbat khalsa not as all of the khalsa but all sgpc rehit Sikhs, and then seperates sarbat khalsa from guru khalsa panth. This is an innovation, how can there be a darbar khalsa if it’s not guru khalsa panth meeting? Maybe I’m misunderstood. And if there is a panj pyare for the panth, will for their term refer to them as guru panj pyare? If they are ones guru they must have dastaar, if they are ones guru they must not commit Bajjar kreight, and thus for the guru panj can’t eat meat, as some groups take that as. BAjar kreight. How can they accept their guru being Bajjar kreighty? My thoughts on this otherwise though seems good draft.

In order for this framework to work we need a strong and calm leader who can greatly explain the real knowledge from the Guru Granth Sahib. The Governance framework for Akal Takht to be free from political interference will not work unless we have a leader. Without a leader this framework is not possible. The foundation is first built from a strong leader. I do not have much faith in this governance because of the very nature of Sikh intellectuals or other priests falling into the hands of politicians of bribe, greed and corruption. Harinder Singh has not inspired anybody with this framework. When Harinder Singh was speaking at the hall meeting only 80 people showed up out of 400,000 Sikh population in GTA. This shows people do not care about what he has to say. Without a leader this framework will not work and I do not have any faith in this process.

First of all the majority of 30 millions Sikhs don’t give a damn about this so called governance because in the end of the day there still will be corruption. I was at Brampton Jim Archedekin center today for Free Akal Takht meeting. It’s a joke, only 100 people showed up out of approximately 400,000 of Sikh population in GTA alone. It shows the prof. who held the meeting is a complete fraud. He says he represents the Khalsa Panth, he’s doing this for his own hidden agenda. When I gave him a good idea he dismissed right away without hearing the whole story in order to regain Sikh sovereignty. He does not care about your opinions except his own. This is a complete waste of fucking time. The only this will work until we get a living Guru who is present right now. I was at the meeting, majority of people were not convinced at all. A vote is needed for this draft framework to even be approved. The majority of Sikhs living outside of Punjab dont give a damn about this issue. End of the day in this era Sikhs are known for being greedy and being corrupted (especially Baba’s in Punjab and around the world). Fuck these so called Sikh leaders. There’s a person in Moga, Punjab who has a gurudwara called Prabh Milne Ka Chao. They teach divine studies; how to meet Waheguru and clear our mind. Bhai Dalbir Singh is the best bet to restore Sikh sovereingty because through his spiritutal journey he has met Waheguru. He has great knowledge and depth of the Guru Granth Sahib. He should be in charge for appointing Jathedars. The Jathedars he appoints won’t be manipulated and corrupted. Only the living the person that has great knowledge of Guru Granth Sahib should be listened to. If every Sikh does Swas Grass Simran only then there will be some real changes. Once our mind becomes clear and turns into pure love only then Sikhism will rise. I don’t believe in your framework because corruption will sweep in again. How do we decide who becomes a Jathedar? How do you look at someone’s qualifications? Who has the right to appoint Jathedars?
